Meet Our DoctorsDinesh Goyal, MD
Dr. Dinesh Goyal, a cornea and refractive surgery specialist, is a partner at Eye Care Associates. Patients with complicated cataracts and corneal disease are frequently referred to Dr. Goyal by doctors both internally and from outside the practice. He also performs LASIK, PRK, and other refractive surgeries routinely. Many of his patients are followed for glaucoma and routine eye care as well.
Dr. Goyal has completed formal subspecialty training in corneal transplant surgery, cataract surgery, LASIK and PRK surgery, and complex diseases of the anterior segment of the eye.
Dr. Goyal received his medical degree from Albany Medical College in New York in 1998. He completed a one year internship in Internal Medicine at Northwestern University Hospitals in Chicago. He then became involved in Ophthalmology research at the University of Minnesota and later returned to New York to complete a three year residency in Ophthalmology at Albany Medical College. During his residency training, Dr. Goyal developed a specific interest in cornea and refractive surgery and was awarded the Robert D. Reinecke prize for his research in LASIK surgery. He moved on to Boston to complete an additional year of subspecialty training in cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery at Boston University Medical Center.
Dr. Goyal is enthusiastic about the field of Ophthalmology and enjoys staying abreast of all the latest advances in the field. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the Minnesota Medical Association.
Dr. Goyal and his highly efficient team of technicians and administrative assistants value good patient care above all and hold themselves to the highest standards of excellence. Dr. Goyal always makes himself available for phone calls and office visits from his patients and is conscientious in following his patients on weeknights and even weekends. Dr. Goyal primarily practices out of our downtown location in the Medical Arts Building and at our Park Avenue location on alternate Wednesdays. He performs most of his surgeries at the Phillips Eye Institute and at Fairview Southdale Hospital.
